Are we all happy? Are we actually happy? I thought I was happy and living a pretty decent life. However, after working three full-time office jobs from nine to five or seven-thirty to four, I have realized that life isn't so much fun for us middle-class people. Well for most of us. I mean, I find my life just repeating itself over and over. Pretty much every weekday is the same. So here's what I've been doing from Mondays to Fridays:
1) Wake up.
2) Get ready for work.
3) Go to work.
4) Gym.
5) Play Xbox or watch TV for an hour.
6) Back to sleep.
Do I get to do different things at work? Yeah, but not really. It's just the same basic things I get to do mostly. We might do one or two new things once in a while, but they will take about only half an hour or so. Then for the next six to seven hours, you are pretty much waiting for the time to go by, even though you won't be doing anything exciting after work.
Do I like to go to work? I did enjoy going to work in the beginning as I couldn't believe that I finally got a job in the business world. But as time went by, I started thinking to myself, why I'm not enjoying work as much as I want to? Currently, I'm working as a logistics coordinator, which requires me to work from the office. This is my third office job. All office jobs are fun for a week or ten days, but then it gets really boring. Not saying these are worthless jobs or anything, but to sit in front of the screen all day is just not fun. Yes, you work, organize, place orders, and all, but you sit in the same place in the same room for seven to eight hours. Some hours, you are super busy, some hours you aren't. The hours when you aren't busy, you start to look at the clock. You then notice that the clock isn't moving at all. It moves like a turtle. Or a snail.
For office desk jobs, you really need to get some good night sleep. Such a job could have you fall asleep if you don't pay attention, or if it's just not busy. But then again, when you go home from work and gym, would you really want to go to bed right away? Heck no! You wanna do something fun and relaxing before you head to bed. Otherwise, you will feel like a broken robot. Eight hours shift aren't that long (I salute those who work ten hours or longer), but it takes away a quarter of your day, and then you are tired. After that, you don't feel like going out with friends for some games, movies, dinner, or other fun stuff. I mean, you can go out with your friends if you skip your workout at the gym. But then again, if you skip the gym on a regular basis after sitting in front of a desk all day, you will gain fifteen to twenty pounds in less than a month.
Work five days for forty hours and you make just enough to pay your bills. Is that really called life? It is definitely better than what poor people get to make, and I feel really sorry for them. I hope God finds a way for them to earn more money and live a better life. I'm grateful for what God has blessed me with, but still, I don't want to live a robotic life. I wanna do more than what I do on a regular weekday. I want to travel, explore things, find new destinations, try something that I haven't so far, and meet a lot of new friendly people. I'm tired of dreaming and wishing for my life to change and become exciting. There is so much to do in New York. So much to do in this massive country of United States. Obviously, so much more I could see and do in this entire world. Why just work, go to the gym, watch T.V, eat, and sleep, when there is so much to do out there?
As I do all the things that I want to do, I would like to find ways to make life interesting and easier for everybody else. I know I'm no superhero or someone extraordinary, but I want to be one. I want to make a difference. I know there is a purpose to this life. I can't just let it go to waste. Some of you like your usual routine, but I can't live like this. Also, I'm not the only one who wants to live a thrilling life. There is so many of you who are just bored of working and paying bills. You and I both deserve to have fun and do great things. It does sound like wishful thinking, but let's actually try to find a way to do something amazing and extraordinary. Ask yourself this. Do you really just want to work, pay bills, and wait all week for the weekend and all year for your annual vacation? You really wanna do all of that for the next forty years? We are always excited when our vacation is approaching, but when it is about to end, it feels like you are losing something special for a long, long time. Let's not feel like that anymore.
You all must be saying that this guy (as in me) is just pumping you up and getting you excited for something that you all can never get. Look, I know it sounds almost impossible, but we have to start somewhere. We need to have a mindset, or change our mindset. We need to be proactive. Gotta be willing to do something big in order to get a big return. Come out, meet somewhere, and put all of your ideas together. Start a business. Start a new trend. Start a new life!
One more thing. I don't hate my current job. This job introduced me to some really good people, who are all working hard to earn a living. We talk, do our jokes, and work together as a unit. This job has helped me learn a lot about trucking, what goes into a delivery from west to east coast, and how people like us working from the offices could help the trucks deliver products on time. I'm fortunate to have this job, but I wanna hit the road. Every time I go out on a long road trip, such as New York to Washington D.C, or New York to Toronto, I get to see a lot of cool new stuff along the way. I've been to Toronto, Canada two times already this year. Wanna go there again. Can never have enough of traveling and exploring this incredible world of ours.
